Rev. David Dornack, Pastor/Head of Staff
Pastor David Dornack transplanted to Portland and settled in at RCPPC in June of 1999 after spending much of his childhood and early church years in the Midwest. He completed his undergraduate work at University of Wisconsin at Lacrosse before attending Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and McCormick Seminary in Chicago. In addition to leading worship activities at RCPPC, David plays trumpet and is a board member for the East City Community Orchestra. Described by friends and acquaintances as the "quintessential Midwestern guy," David is known for his Chili Cook-Off victory in Menominee, Michigan and his title of watermelon seed-spitting champion in Sac City, Iowa. You may even recognize Pastor Dornack from his appearances in three national commercials for Kraft Cheese, a stint that led to his temporary membership in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). He still makes regular trips to the Midwest to visit his children and their families. Contact David.

Ruth Heald, Director of Choirs
Ruth Heald first came to RCPPC as the office receptionist in December of 2012 and in September 2013 expanded her horizons to include directing the church handbell choir and performing as a regularly featured vocal soloist during special worship services. Beginning August 1, 2014, she added Director of Choirs to the many titles she held at the church. A return to graduate studies in late 2015 led Ruth to certail her church duties. Ruth graduated from Willamette University in 2012 with a Bachelor's of Music in music education and she enjoys using her teaching skills both with music groups in the church and with her private music students outside of RCPPC. She regularly gigs around the Pacific Northwest as a vocalist and drummer with local Portland bands Ruth and the Reason, Goldfoot, and Jack Martin and the House Band. When Ruth isn't working or performing, she spends her time cycling, baking, reading, hiking, and thrift store shopping. Contact Ruth.
Martin Ellis, Organist
Martin Ellis relocated to Portland from Indianapolis in fall of 2014 after serving as organist at St. James Lutheran Church for two years in the late 1990s and maintaining connections with local musical collaborators through his membership in the organ performance group—Trio Con Brio. Most of Martin’s musical life has been centered in Indiana where he started musical studies in the 2nd grade. At DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, Ellis majored in keyboard performance and composition and was also active in the vocal music department. Since his university days Martin has held several church organist positions, serving at North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and Northminster Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis, among others. He also continues an extensive career as a concert organist, choral accompanist, and arranger of music.
