Life Beyond Sunday At Rose City Park Presbyterian

The life of Rose City Park Presbyterian is lived out in various spaces, places, and times. We are not a Sunday-only congregation!

These are the kinds of activities you may find on our calendar over the course of the year.

  • A weekly study & reflection group, known as Compline, meeting virtually in the evening.
  • Potluck dinners in each other’s homes, meeting according to participants’ schedules.
  • Afternoon and evening book clubs gathering online, at church, or in people’s homes.
  • Women meeting for evening study or daytime service work (with fellowship!).
  • Men coming together each month for a mens’ breakfast.
  • Periodically, men and women hold annual retreats.
  • We also offer an actively curated library collection.

We are proud to be a PCUSA Earth Care Congregation after completing many criteria- from energy efficiency projects, to earth-centric education and worship, to using sustainable coffee and other products. We look forward to making progress and expanding out into the community! RCPPC joins 373 fellow congregations in 42 states with this prestigious designation. The Earth Care Congregation Certification is designed to recognize churches that take seriously God’s charge to “till and keep” the garden that is our shared common home. Only 4.5% of PC(USA) congregations have earned this designation since 2010, and the number continues to grow each year.

Workshops
Workshops take place after worship or in the evenings. Topics of these can emerge from members’ interests to current events, and can vary in format as well. They might include a video series about earth justice, for example, a discussion of the intersetcions between our faith and our health, instruction in techniques for de-escalation, and much more.

What’s important is that everyone is welcome to join in every activity.
