Our Church Community At Rose City Park Presbyterian
Rose City Park is a diverse, evolving congregation.
We are young and old, individuals and families, believers and questioners. Some of us are born into Presbyterianism. Some come from other religions or churches. Still others come with no experience of church at all.
All of us long to be connected, to other people, and to the spirit of God.
No matter how we identify racially, ethnically, in our gender orientation, or socio-economic status, each of us strives, in our own way, to help build a caring, hopeful community.

What We Value
Our church is a diverse body with many different experiences, perspectives and commitments. But we do seek to embody, in our collective life, progressive values that we believe express the expansive love of God.

How We Care

Our care for one another as members of an intentional, intergenerational community takes many forms. We celebrate milestones together, like major birthdays anniversaries and accomplishments, usually by sharing treats (ice cream, anyone?) during our fellowship time. Volunteer “shepherds” send cards and letters to those we don’t get to see often.

Our Deacons deliver flowers on special occasions to our homebound members, or send care packages to those living elsewhere, including college students and those serving abroad, as a reminder of our ongoing support. Our hospitality team helps others move through seasons of loss and grief, hosting memorial services and remembrances.

This last year, our quilting group presented handmade quilts to each of our high school graduates, so they would know they are wrapped in love as they enter the next season of their lives. In all these and many other ways, we give and receive love, building a community of trust and belonging.
