Quilt-A-Thon

Calling all RCPPCers! The industrious Martha Service team has quilts almost ready for those in need but now are asking for your help to “tie them on”. No sewing skills are needed, but if you can tie a knot, you can help. Come and enjoy laughter and fellowship with other RCPPCers as you help tie together the quilt layers and know that your efforts will help keep someone warm and encouraged!

Martha Service, a long-time outreach of RCPPC, creates beautiful handmade quilts for gifts to organizations where people are in need or as celebrations of new babies or graduates. As shared in our Annual Report, “The fabric comes through you from a grandmother or cousin or auntie or a garage sale you just couldn’t pass by. You leave it in bags or boxes on the counter in Room 8. Or you give it to one of the Marthas. Then magic begins. Chaos recent becomes order. Some of us delight in putting those scraps into color plans and sewing patterns that might look like stars or houses or squares within squares within squares. This creates the top of the quilt.”
