“A Journey Towards Revival” Concert
If you missed last May’s concert by our Director of Music, Zachary Aldana and Organist Heidi Kohne, you have another opportunity to experience this inspirational concert of emotional healing. This unique hour-long concert allows for the audience to bring their stress and anxiety to the surface in time with the music, and allow the music to let it melt away. A brief spoken message by Pastor Liz provides words of wisdom and meditation. Classical works by Schumann, Durufle, Bernstein, and Franck are amongst the pieces performed. If you attended the concert last time, here is another opportunity to refresh your spirit for the upcoming fall and winter. The concert is free and all are welcome.
“A Journey Towards Revival” dives into a complex web of interwoven themes that emerge from a desire for power, the appeal of self-indulgence, and the pursuit of superficial happiness, all of which play into the hands of cynicism and disorder. Throughout the performance, the narrator encounters both dramatic and quiet moments of antagonism in a circus-like dystopian atmosphere, culminating in regrettable inner turmoil. Our narrator returns to a sense of grounding through periods of humility and introspection, a spirit of gratitude and remorse, focusing on the blessings of life, seeking to stay present in the current moment, and accepting simplicity.
